“Carrom Fun” Local Carrom Tournament - February 2011


A great opportunity to improve your carrom skills and have fun!

 
Hello everyone,


The next public carrom event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, Feb 5th in Cupertino. We plan to try a new format this time that is sure to be instructive, competitive, and a lot of fun! The event is open to players of all skill levels. Organizers will provide any equipment needed for playing, feel free to bring your personal strikers if you wish.


Saturday, Feb 5th 2011, 9.30AM - 5PM
Sage Apartments Clubhouse
175 Calvert Dr, Cupertino, CA (Near I-280 & Stevens Creek)


Entry Fee: $10/person, to be paid at the venue by cash.


Schedule:
9.30AM - 10.00AM: Registration
10.00AM - 11.00AM: Skill level assessment and Ranking competition (Singles)
11.00AM - 3.30PM: Doubles tournament
3.30PM - 5.00PM: Open play
(PS: Lunch will not be provided, but we will have a lunch break)


Doubles Tourney Format:
Doubles teams will be formed by the organizers based on skill level, such that each team has one advanced player and one novice player (For example, Ranks 1 & 16, 2 & 15, 3 & 14, etc). This levels the playing field, provides amateur players an opportunity to learn from top local players first hand and take their game to the next level, and ofcourse create a fun and competitive atmosphere.
Each match will comprise of 1 game, which is played for 45 minutes or 8 boards or 25 points, whichever happens first.
If we have less than 6 teams, each team will play with every other team in a round robin league.
If we have more than 6 teams, all matches will be Knock-Out style and the draw will be random.
International tournament carrom rules will be observed.
